We come to God's house because we struggle. Children struggle with fears and doubts. Teens struggle with peer pressure and understanding who they are. Many of us struggle with addiction and loneliness. We all struggle with pain and suffering. More than anything we struggle with sin and guilt and we need a safe place. We need refuge. That's St. John's Lutheran Church.

Listen to how Isaiah describes our God. "For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall." Isaiah 25:4 (ESV) God sent His son to die for you so that no matter what you have done you can find shelter from the storm of accusations and guilt under the blood of Christ. You can find freedom and peace from Satan's accusing finger. So that as Jesus says you "can have life and have it abundantly." John 10:10 (ESV)
